Police are seeking information after a tourist was punched and robbed as she walked in Taupo on Sunday.
The 22-year-old Korean woman was on Huka Falls Road about 5.40pm when two men pulled alongside her in a grey car with a numberplate beginning with the letter F.
One got out and demanded her bag, grabbing it. When the woman did not let go he punched her to the ground.
She was dragged, still holding the bag, towards the car, only letting go as it drove away.
Detective Sergeant Tony Manunui said the woman suffered only minor injuries but was in shock after the attack.
Her assailants were both described as male, Maori, aged 18-25 and of medium height and build.
Some of the woman's belongings were found near Mihi Bridge on State Highway 5 between Taupo and Rotorua.
Police appealed for witnesses.
