The teen who pleaded guilty to murdering Scottish tourist Karen Aim will be sentenced today in the High Court at Rotorua.
Jahche Broughton, 15, was to have been sentenced on March 6 but it was called off amid reports his new lawyer Christopher Wilkinson-Smith was considering attempting to withdraw the plea.
But Mr Wilkinson-Smith later announced the plea stood and the sentencing was rescheduled for today.
Broughton was only 14 when he bashed 27-year-old Ms Aim in a Taupo street on January 17 last year.
She was found by police after they were called to investigate a vandalism spree at Taupo Nui a Tia College on January 17.
She was taken to Taupo Hospital but died a short time later.
Broughton will also be sentenced for injuring a 17-year-old woman with intent to cause her grievous bodily harm in a separate incident a fortnight before the attack on Ms Aim.
