Tourist hit by bus dies

A middle-aged Asian woman tourist died overnight of injuries suffered when she was hit by a bus in Rotorua on Sunday afternoon.

The accident happened as the woman was crossing the road at the intersection of Amohau and Tutanekai Streets at 2.10pm.

Rotorua police's crash investigation team were investigating.

Acting Senior Sergeant Roger Schreuder told the Daily Post that Victim Support had been contacted to offer counselling for others in the tour group.
