A French tourist has been charged in relation to a Whangarei crash on Sunday which claimed the life of an unborn child.
The 27-year-old woman is facing three charges of careless driving causing injury. She will appear in the Counties Manukau District Court on Thursday.
Two cars were involved in a head-on collision about 9.25pm on Sunday on Whangarei Heads Road.
Three people, an 18-year-old man, an 18-year-old woman and a 14-year-old boy, were injured in the crash.
The 18-year-old woman's unborn child died as a result of the crash.
