KEY POINTS:
An Australian tourist was sexually assaulted in Christchurch last night after leaving a city bar.
The 19-year-old woman left the bar about 3.30am but became separated from her friends on Manchester St. As she carried on to her accommodation, she was approached by two men. One of the men then left, leaving her alone with the other man.
Near the corner of Manchester St and Aberdeen St, the man sexually assaulted the woman. She managed to break free and seek help.
The man is described as 18 or 19-years-old, possibly Asian, of skinny build. He was wearing baggy clothing including a dark coloured long-sleeved top and a cap with a peak.
Police would like to hear from anyone with any information about the attack.
