A tornado has damaged a number of rural properties at Ramarama south of Auckland.
The twister struck just after 11am around the intersection of Davies Rd and Ararimu Rd.
Fire Service northern communication spokesman Scott Osmond says at least one house has damage to its roof and glasshouses were damaged.
Mr Osmond says although it was a small tornado, it was big enough to cause quite a bit of damage. He says an area measuring a few hundred metres was affected.
