Top seeds win through in champs second round

This weekend saw the 2nd round of the Club Championship with a few close matches with some of the top seeds going through to the next round.
Top seed Bruce Herangi had a good win against Kevin May on the 16th hole, Wayne Evans had a good win against Shane Stewart, Alan Biel went down the down the 20th hole to win his match against Greg Granich and young Jake Paulsen had a good win against Mark Schultz with some good scoring in this match. Other winners were Steve Hargood, R flood, Brian Mitchell, Carl Cocks.
Saturday comp was a par round with F Brittain with +2 from 2nd A Karaitiana with +2 from 3rd J Hargood +1. Group Two was won by J Paulsen with +5 from 2nd B Graham +3 from 3rd B Leahy +3. Group Three was won by M Schultz with +9 from 2nd M Biel +5 from 3rd S Whitt -1.
Twos were scored by F Brittian, G Paulsen, R Hutcheson, B Mitchell and K Luke who had two with a fine shot into the 17th with his driver to a foot. Nearest the pins were won by no.1 Solway Pie Shop Shane Stewart, no.3 Mitre 10 G Duckett, no.6 McCauley's Transport A Karaitiana, no.8 Solway Butchery B Dick, no.10 Progressive Engineering A Karaitiana, no.17 Social Committee K Luke.Lukies Lucky Last was won by R Britt -7.
Women's results for Saturday had A Karaitiana win with Nett 70 from 2nd E Munn net 73 from 3rd R Alexander net 73, 1st round of the silver club champs with N Stevenson win on the 18th against N Graham.
Sunday was a medal round with K May win group one with net 64 from 2nd Paul Haxton with net 72, group two was won by T Gallon with net 71 from M Foote with net 7, twos were scored by R Flood, P Haxton, L Duckett, R Alexander and T Gallon. Lukies Lucky last was won by T Tiopira 81 net. Ladies group was by T Gallon 38 pts from 2nd R Alexander 36 pts, winner of the Keith Saw was by R Alexander with 75 pts.
The Vets played a par round with J Munn winning group one with +7 from 2nd B Christiansen +6 from 3rd P Campbell +4. Group two was won by C Isherwood with +3 from 2nd Syd Whitt with +3. Ladies group one was won by I Phelps +5 from 2nd S Sladden +5. Group two was won by Yvonne Allsworth +7 from 2nd Val Haigh +6. Nearest the pin no.3 S Sladden no.6 I Phelps, no.6 F Brittain, no.7 B Graham.
This Sunday is the Masterhaunga tournament at Lansdowne golf club so all the members try and play in this.
