A top criminal defence lawyer charged with having methamphetamine has today denied the allegation.
Steven Rollo, 41, noted for his work in defending New Zealand gang members, entered a not guilty plea this morning and was granted a registrar's remand at Christchurch District Court without having to appear before a judge.
Police allege that Rollo was caught in possession of class A drug methamphetamine in Christchurch on July 1.
He's also accused of failing or refusing to give an enforcement officer his full name and address last Friday.
Rollo, of Christchurch, denies both charges and must appear in court on September 6 for a case review hearing.
