“Police are aware of two people that had a BB gun fired toward them from a moving vehicle.
“What has been reported is concerning behaviour given other people were walking in the area at the time,” he said.
One person suffered minor grazing.
Top Auckland private school St Kentigern College issued a safety alert to parents and caregivers on Wednesday.
“We want to inform you about an incident that occurred yesterday afternoon in Glendowie when a student was getting off the bus, when what appears to have been a BB gun was discharged.
“For everyone’s safety, please remind your children to stay alert and report any suspicious activity immediately by calling 111.”
Police are now seeking information from the public as part of their inquiries.
“We are particularly interested in any information about the vehicle involved. At this point, it has been described as a silver sedan,” Wilson said.
“If you have information about a vehicle like this in the area around this time, please contact us. We would also like to hear from anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage.”
