KEY POINTS:
Rugby reporter Andrew Saville was today named as Tony Veitch's replacement as TNVZ's One News sports anchor.
The network also said sports journalist and former Silver Fern netballer Jenny May Coffin would present the sports news on Fridays and Saturdays, and be back-up to Saville.
Sports reporter Toni Street would provide additional back-up over the next couple of months.
Veitch quit both his television and radio broadcasting jobs in July after being accused of attacking former partner Kristin Dunne-Powell in 2006.
He faces six charges of assault and one count of injuring with reckless disregard and is on bail with a pre-depositions hearing set for October 20.
Saville has been at One News for the past two years, having started his broadcasting career on radio.
He won the Sir Terry McLean Sports Journalist of the Year Award in 2006 and the top sports news broadcast award last year for his coverage of the 2007 World Cup.
TVNZ said Saville would remain One News' main All Black reporter.
