Toddler's hand caught in machinery

A toddler is in a stable condition in Waikato Hospital after his hand was caught in farm machinery.

Hospital spokeswoman Mary Ann Gill said the 20-month-old boy was airlifted to the hospital from Tauranga last night.

Surgeons operated last night and the boy was now recovering in the paediatric surgical ward.

She could not provide details of the accident or the injury.
