Toddler was killed in accident at paddock, police say

Police have found the vehicle involved in an accident in which a young Flaxmere girl was killed yesterday.

The two-and-a-half-year-old died after being taken to hospital.

It was initially thought she had been run over in a driveway.

But Senior Sergeant Greg Brown said they have found the vehicle involved and are currently talking to the driver.

He said the accident happened in a paddock near the girl's home.

The driver was reversing when the little girl got caught between the vehicle and a trailer.

Mr Brown said the driver is not an immediate family member, but is known to the girl's family.
