The boss of nanny company Porse feels "sick" over an incident in which a child was trapped under a 100kg gate.
Porse had placed Ruby, 4, in the care of New Lynn's Olivia Butt, who was also looking after her own daughter at home.
The sliding security gate came off its track and fell on to the girls.
Two of Ruby's bones broke through the skin of her leg and she was taken to Starship Hospital. Butt's daughter did not require treatment.
Porse's Jenny Yule said, "You feel sick when you see little ones get hurt."
