KEY POINTS:
A Tokoroa man charged with murdering a toddler has been granted bail on strict conditions which include a ban on contact with children aged under 16.
Rikki Hotham, 30, appeared in Rotorua District Court yesterday accused of murdering 22-month-old Tyla-Maree Darryl Flynn on June 29 last year.
Hotham's lawyer, Harry Edward, applied for bail, which was not opposed by crown prosecutor Amanda Gordon.
Judge Patrick Treston granted Hotham bail with strict conditions.
Hotham must live in Putaruru, not consume alcohol or drugs and not have access to children under 16.
He is not allowed to contact any of the prosecution's witnesses and must report to police three times a week.
His case will be back in court on May 26 for a pre-depositions hearing.
Tyla-Maree Darryl Flynn was rushed to Tokoroa Hospital by her mother on June 29. She died about an hour later.
Hotham was arrested following a nine month investigation.
