Toddler killed in Hastings paddock named

Hastings police have named the toddler killed in a paddock in the suburb of Flaxmere on Saturday.

Ariana Josephine Tawhai, two, of Flaxmere, was with an adult who was loading a trailer with rubbish, and was caught between the car and trailer while it was reversing.

Senior Sergeant Greg Brown said today police were still considering whether they would lay charges as a result of the accident.
