Toddler killed in driveway named

A toddler killed when his father backed a van over him in the driveway of a South Auckland house on Saturday morning has been named as Ivan Togafau.

Fourteen-month-old Ivan, of Manurewa, was playing in the driveway when his father, unaware of his presence, reversed a van he was cleaning.

The boy later died in Middlemore Hospital.

Police said the death was still being investigated and it was too soon to say if the toddler's father would be charged.
