A pre-schooler who died as a result of injuries received in a three-car crash near Huntly over Labour weekend has been named by police.
Caleb Narayan, aged three, of Papatoetoe, South Auckland, died in Starship Hospital on Thursday last week.
He suffered critical injuries when the car he was a rear-seat passenger in was shunted from behind into the path of a motorcycle as the driver waited to turn off State Highway 1 into a driveway.
Police said public appeals for witnesses to the crash to come forward had been successful and a number of people were waiting to be interviewed.
