Save A 21-month-old girl has died after falling into a farm pond on the West Coast.
West Coast police were called to a rural Westport property about 5.30pm today.
CPR was performed at the scene and the child was taken to Buller Hospital in a critical condition.
Police later said the
girl had died.
"No further information is currently available and police inquiries into the incident are continuing," police said in a statement.
