KEY POINTS:
Former league international Brent Todd will serve 12 months on home detention for his part in a multi-million dollar gaming machine fraud.
The former Canberra and Kiwis prop and television star was today sentenced in the Auckland District Court over the alleged false invoicing racket after pleading guilty in November.
The terms of Todd's home detention will allow him to work and complete a 190hr community work sentence imposed by Judge Tom Everett.
Judge Everett's sentence began with a possible starting point of five years in prison and was reduced to a point at which home detention could be imposed.
Todd's sentence was reduced by a third by his early guilty plea.
He received a further reduction of six months for the repayment of $611,000 and another 12 months for what Judge Everett described as Todd's "significant" cooperation with prosecutors.
