National Party MPs have elected Piako MP Lindsay Tisch to the key caucus position of chief whip.
National's East Coast MP Anne Tolley was elected junior whip -- a position held by Mr Tisch before today's vote.
The whips' role involves mustering MPs for votes, guiding them through Parliament's rules and processes and enforcing discipline.
Mr Tisch replaces Rangitikei MP Simon Power, who stood down from the senior whip position after the election so he could concentrate on a shadow cabinet portfolio.
Mr Power signalled the move some time ago.
