Tip search in murder hunt

Suburban Sydney rubbish tips will be searched by police as part of inquiries into the murder of New Zealand-born nurse Michelle Beets.

The 57-year-old nurse manager at Royal North Shore Hospital suffered multiple knife injuries on the doorstep of her Chatswood home - in Sydney's northern suburbs - last week.

Police have yet to confirm that their search is an effort to find the knife that killed Ms Beets.
