A miniature train carrying 12 passengers derailed as it left a bridge on Saturday in Havelock North's Keirunga Park Railway and seven people were taken to Hawkes Bay Hospital.
All have been discharged except for a 60-year-old who remains in a stable condition. The steam locomotive tipped on to its side at Keirunga Gardens at 12.20pm.
A wooden safety barrier prevented it from sliding down a 10m bank but passenger cars were left tilting.
Havelock North Live Steamers' president Brian Murphy said the accident was nobody's fault. "It just sledged on the track."
