A group of Wairarapa people will meet at the Carterton Events Centre tomorrow to get "timebanking" started in the district.
Timebank founder Professor Edgar Cahn spoke in Masterton on August 31 about his invention, which sees participants trade or pass on labour with an equal value on everybody's time.
Tomorrow from 4pm to 5.30pm a group representing a range of community organisations will meet to establish a steering group.
Timebank member Hayden McGrail said most of those planning to attend the meeting were inspired by Professor Cahn's visit.
"Wairarapa has already made a good beginning so we're not starting from scratch," Mr McGrail said.
