A post-mortem examination on a 28-year-old woman found dead in Timaru yesterday will be completed some time this morning, police say.
A member of the public found the body of the woman on a driveway off Quarry Rd and St John Ambulance alerted police about 9am yesterday.
The woman's body was taken to Christchurch for the post-mortem examination, Senior Sergeant Mark Offen said.
The death would be treated as suspicious until the post mortem examination revealed the cause of death, he said.
Police were interviewing people who lived in the area and wanted to hear from any witnesses.
The woman's next of kin had been advised but police have not yet released her name.
