The first New Zealand fatality from the Bali bombings has been confirmed tonight.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokesman Brad Tattersfield said the New Zealand consul to Indonesia, Nigel Allardyce, has confirmed the death of Mark Morton Parker, 27, of Timaru.
Mr Tattersfield said Mr Parker's family have been informed of his death.
Mr Parker was the son of former New Zealand test cricketer Murray Parker, and a nephew of fellow test player John Parker.
Mr Allardyce, who has been heading the gruesome task of searching morgues in Bali, said there were grave concerns for two other New Zealand men.
However, Mr Tattersfield said no further details were available.
