Timaru police are speaking to a person after two banks in the city were robbed around noon today.
The National Bank in Church St and Westpac in Northtown were robbed, Senior Sergeant Marion Neill confirmed.
No weapon was sighted during the robberies and it was not yet known if money was taken from one or both banks.
Police were at both branches speaking to witnesses and were also speaking to one person of interest, Ms Neill said.
They were not seeking anyone else.
