Three people were seriously injured in a head-on crash near Helensville this morning.
The crash occurred around 6.20am this morning when two cars travelling in opposite directions on the Kaipara Coast Highway collided head-on at a bend in the road, just north of Helensville.
The car travelling south had one male driver on-board who suffered serious injuries in the crash. The car travelling north had a female driver and a female passenger on-board who both suffered serious injuries.
All three were taken by ambulance to Auckland Hospital. No further details about those injured were immediately available.
A third car travelling north which was behind one of the cars involved swerved to avoid the crash and ended up in a ditch. That motorist was uninjured.
