Three people have been rescued after their catamaran flipped on the Manukau harbour this morning.
Coastguard spokesperson, Georgie Smith, says it is not yet known how the boat capsized.
"As catamarans do when you're out there sailing, they can capsize, and it just so happened that were near the bar and needed a bit of assistance to turn it upright.
"All the people are just fine, and it's fantastic that they had communications on board."
Georgie Smith says all those on board were wearing life jackets.
