Three people were rescued from a house fire in suburban Auckland today.
The fire engulfed a home in Grey Lynn, about 6.40am, Fire Service northern communications centre shift manager Colin Underdown said.
He said the fire broke out in the roof area.
Six appliances attended and three people had to be pulled out of the house, he said.
"It was well involved when we got there. The flames were very high and we were pumping a lot of water into it," he said.
Ambulance staff treated four people at the scene for smoke inhalation.
