Three men have been rescued from a bucket suspended about 40m in the air from a crane at Devonport Naval Base.
Firefighters were called to the base and used an aerial truck to rescue the naval officers and a contractor stranded mid-air after the crane stalled.
A Fire Service spokesman said the rescue took about 90 minutes after they were called to help around 9.50am.
A rescue platform was positioned beside the workers who were helped from the bucket to safety.
A line rescue team specialising in reaching people in dangerous situations was called but not needed.
