Three more aftershocks hit Christchurch within 35 minutes early this morning.
The first, measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale, hit about 12.56am. It was 30km southeast of Christchurch at a depth of 5km. It may have been felt in Canterbury.
The next struck at 1.20am. It measured 4.4 and was located 10km east of Christchurch at a depth of 5km and was likely to have been more widely felt.
A smaller quake, measuring 3.1, struck 10 minutes later at the same location at a depth of 8km.
