Three teenagers seen on bicycles and possibly armed with a gun are yet to be found after being spotted by members of the public in South Auckland this afternoon.
Police were called to Coronation Rd in Mangere at about 2.30pm following several reports of people seeing three young men on bikes with what was thought to be a firearm.
Just before 6pm, police released a statement saying they had not found the trio, said to be in their mid to late teens.
"Despite cordons being put in place and numerous ground and air searches of the wider area, the trio were not located."
The teenagers are described as being of Maori or Pacific Island descent and were seen wearing "sports clothing" including trackpants and hooded jumpers.
