Three killed in Christchurch crash

Three people have died after a car collided with a power pole in the Christchurch suburb of New Brighton.

Two women, aged 60 and 68, and a three year-old girl were killed in the crash that happened at about 6.20pm on Estuary Rd yesterday.

A man in his sixties was also injured in the crash and is in hospital.

Detective Sergeant Andrew Fabish said all of the people in the car were visiting New Zealand from the United Kingdom.

He said fatigue was likely to be a factor in the cause of the crash.
