Three injured in house fire

Three people were hospitalised after a house fire in Wanganui early today.

The Fire Service received several 111 calls to the Swiss Avenue property around 5am.

A spokesman said the house was burning fiercely when firefighters arrived.

Three people suffering from smoke inhalation were taken to hospital.

The fire was now out and investigations were under way into the cause.
