Three people have been hospitalised after a serious crash in Waikato last night.
The Waikato Westpac Air Ambulance was called to the scene on State Highway 25 near Waitakaruru, 24km south-west of Thames, about 8.50pm.
A second helicopter was also called due to the number and serious nature of the injuries, an air ambulance spokeswoman said.
Police northern communications Inspector Shawn Rutene said eight people were in the vehicle and three had become trapped when it rolled.
Two people suffered abdominal injuries and one serious head injuries, he said.
