Collectible sporting classic cars from Britain, Italy and the US that are likely to be worth several times their current value in the years ahead top the bill at Shannons auction in Sydney on Monday.

Star of the auction is likely to be this 1967 Jaguar E-Type 4.2-litre Series 1.5 Roadster.

The auction is popular with Kiwis after a classic car and the star of the auction is a stunning black with chrome wire wheels and tan leather interior 1967 Jaguar E-Type 4.2-litre Series 1.5 roadster that is expected to sell in the A$110,000-A$125,000 ($118k-$134k) range.

The original right-hand-drive car arrived in Australia in 2001. Since then it has undergone a comprehensive refurbishment, including a bare-metal respray, new interior and a new soft top.

Another classic is a 1988 Ferrari Testarossa coupe - a flat 12 cylinder Ferrari that many experts believe is well undervalued on the world collector market.

Presented in classic Rosso Corsa with Crema leather interior, this former flagship Ferrari is also rare, being one of only 438 right-hand drive Testarossas produced.

Adding to its collectibility, the Ferrari's odometer is showing just 58,013 miles, a figure supported by its documented service history and unmodified condition, with largely original paint and trim.

Because of its rarity, original, low-mileage condition and potential collectibility, Shannons expect it will find willing floor, telephone and internet bidders in the A$95,000-A$110,000 range.

Plenty has been spent on maintaining this 1960 Chevrolet Corvette C1 Convertible

From the US there is a beautiful, former trophy-winning and matching numbers 1960 Chevrolet Corvette C1 convertible that was already restored when it arrived in Australia in 2011.

However, the original left-hand-drive Corvette comes with a comprehensive receipt file that documents more than $30,000 invested on maintaining it in top condition in recent years.

Presented in stunning condition in red with white scallops and a red vinyl interior, the Corvette is fitted with the model's desirable four-speed manual gearbox.

Because of its condition, Shannons expect it to sell in the A$90,000-A$105,000 range.
