A search was launched this afternoon for three divers missing off Kapiti Island.
About 2pm the Life Flight Trust was asked by police to start a search for the divers who had not been seen since around 12:15pm.
The Westpac Helicopter responded with a Wellington Free Ambulance Paramedic onboard, and on arrival found that two of the divers had been located by the Kapiti Coastguard.
The search continued for the remaining diver with local boaties providing help.
The third diver was found on the beach on the western side of Kapiti Island by the Life Flight team soon afterwards. The helicopter crew directed the Kapiti Coastguard to the diver's position and he was taken onboard and returned to shore.
