Three people died on New Zealand roads at the weekend. A pedestrian was hit by a car in the Auckland suburb of Pt Chevalier last night.
Early reports indicated the woman was run over while trying to cross Great North Rd by a car which was turning into a driveway, police communications Inspector Lance Burdett said.
A crash near Kaiapoi, north of Christchurch, killed one person shortly after 5pm yesterday. And a 30-year-old Lower Hutt man was killed on the Desert Rd on Saturday. His van had crossed the centre line on a bend, colliding with a truck.
