Three die in crashes around Auckland

Three people - including two motorcyclists - died on the roads at the weekend.

Sione Rex died instantly when his motorcycle crashed into a fence in Mangere, South Auckland, on Saturday afternoon. His pillion passenger suffered moderate injuries.

Another man died yesterday morning in a pile-up involving up to three motorcycles and two cars on State Highway 16 at Helensville.

A third person died yesterday evening when a vehicle smashed into a power pole in Mangere.
