Three people have now been arrested and charged in connection with yesterday's double shooting in west Auckland.
A 30-year-old man was left with facial injuries, including a serious eye wound, after being shot at his house in Glen Eden just before 11.30am yesterday. While he was being rushed to Auckland hospital, a 35-year-old man appeared at Waitakere Hospital with similar injuries.
The second man was believed to have been at the Glen Eden house at the time of the shooting but left soon after. He has been arrested but remains in hospital under a police guard.
He has been charged with unlawful assembly.
A 38-year-old man has also been arrested and is due to appear in the Waitakere District Court today charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Police this afternoon said a 36-year-old female had been arrested and charged with being an accessory after the fact. She is due to appear in Waitakere District Court on Monday.
They said they had recovered a white falcon car sought in connection with the shooting as well as a .22 calibre rifle and ammunition. A shotgun linked to the shootings is still missing.
Police said investigations into the shootings were continuing and further arrests were likely.
Neighbours yesterday said the first victim had had his car torched on Sunday night.
