Three people were arrested today in connection over an alleged commercial cannabis growing operation in south Wairarapa.
Wairarapa CIB head Detective Senior Sergeant Sean Hansen said two police searched two properties - one in Otaki, the other in Kaiwaka Road, south Wairarapa.
Police seized between 100 and 150 cannabis plants and about 1.8kg of dried cannabis from the south Wairarapa property. A quantity of cannabis was also found in an Otaki house.
"We arrested a 45-year-old Otaki man for cultivating cannabis and possession of cannabis for supply.
"A 61-year-old Martinborough man also faces the same charges and a 62-year-old Martinborough woman was charged with possession of cannabis," Mr Hansen said.
The investigation was part of Operation Linda, a nationwide cannabis and crime initiative, targeting organised crime and those involved in the cultivation, distribution and supply of cannabis.
"Police will continue to target illegal drugs and organised crime throughout the Wairarapa region," he said.
One man was to appear in Levin District Court today, while the 61-year-old man was to appear in Masterton District Court shortly. The woman would appear at a later date.
