Armed police raided several Hamilton properties yesterday and arrested three people wanted over a gang-related knifepoint robbery early in the morning.
A group of people, armed with knives, burst into a Durham St, Nawton, home about 4am. The aggravated robbery was believed to be both gang- and drug-related.
As a result of the subsequent police investigation and the armed offenders squad raids, a 21-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were charged with aggravated robbery. A search of two Fairfield properties led to a 26-year-old man being arrested on the same charge. All three will appear in Hamilton District Court today.
