KEY POINTS:
Horowhenua police have arrested three men and are seeking a fourth after a vicious assault in Otaki yesterday.
Police said the victim, asleep in his car near the Otaki railway station sometime after 1am, was attacked by four men, slashed in the face with a broken bottle or similar weapon, and robbed.
The man suffered serious injuries.
The foursome damaged several properties after leaving the scene and committed two burglaries.
Police said the three arrested Otaki men face aggravated robbery, wounding with intent and other charges.
A fourth man, Arana Goodyer, is sought by police.
