KEY POINTS:
Police have made three arrests after a shooting in Hamilton that left a man needing surgery.
Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Page said the three people had been charged with offences unrelated to last Thursday's shooting after a scene examination.
"The first arrested man appeared in the Hamilton District Court on Saturday. Two other people, a man and woman, will appear in Hamilton District Court this morning charged with firearms related offences," Mr Page said.
The 51-year-old underwent surgery at Waikato Hospital to remove a bullet from his shoulder on Saturday.
Mr Page said the man is still in hospital and in a stable condition.
On Saturday police said the shot was fired from outside the man's Duke Street, Frankton, home, but they could not say if it was a drive-by shooting.
Police interviewed the man at his hospital bedside on Friday.
