Up to 3000 of Telecom's Xtra customers may still be having trouble with their internet connections, but full services should be restored by the end of the day, Telecom says.
Earlier today it said the problem had been fixed.
Thousands of broadband internet users throughout the country were left without a connection since Sunday because of equipment failure.
Telecom customer care manager Kelly Moore said the company "deeply regrets" the internet outages some customers have experienced in the last few days and staff had "worked round the clock" to get things running again.
"Services were restored to nearly all Xtra customers yesterday evening. There are still 2000 to 3000 customers who may be experiencing some problems today and we are working to ensure full services are running again by the end of the day."
"We sincerely regret the inconvenience and frustration that has been caused to our customers over the past few days."
The cause of the fault was being investigated.
Customers still experiencing connection delays should restart their computers and modems.
Xtra spokesman Sean Martin said this morning there was no plan to refund customers for the lost service "at this stage".
