Firefighters have this morning extinguished a large fire inside a two-storey warehouse in Whangarei.
The Fire Service were called to the blaze on Albert St at 11.51pm, and arrived to find it well involved, northern communications shift manager Paul Radden said.
Around 30 firefighters fought the 30 sq m blaze throughout the night, accompanied by a dozen support staff. Seven appliances and six support vehicles were called in.
Mr Radden said a combination of high-pressure and low pressure delivery hoses were used, as well breathing apparatus.
Crews spent much of the time moving stock and pallets to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.
Firefighters were also having to take shorter stints tackling the blaze due to the high humidity, he said.
Mr Raddon said it was not known what caused the fire.
