A teenage girl fell down a steep bank on Great Barrier Island last night.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to Port Fitzroy on Great Barrier Island just before 8.30pm after a teenage girl fell down a steep 2m bank and hit her head on a rock at the bottom.
The crew treated the girl and flew her to Auckland Hospital in a moderate condition.
The accident happened less than a week after 16-year-old Jakesha Wilson was left battered and bruised in a 20m fall from Devonport's North Head late last Friday night.
A 16-year-old boy also fell while trying to rescue her.
