A Carterton man has been disqualified from driving for a year after being caught drink-driving for the third time.
Zachary Owen Reriti, 25, provided a reading of 607mcg of alcohol per litre of breath when stopped by police on January 1 on Queen St, Masterton.
In Masterton District Court on Monday, his lawyer, Ian Hard, said it was unfortunate his client had incurred a third charge as his previous two readings had only been "marginally over" the limit.
"He's not a big drinker and he's not a frequent drinker," Mr Hard said.
Judge Barbara Morris said if Reriti came before the court on further drink-driving charges, his liberty would be at risk.
