A weak earthquake rattled Masterton on Tuesday night, according to GNS Science.
The 2.9 magnitude tremor struck at 7.25pm and was centred about five kilometres north-east of the town at a depth of 24 kilometres.
The quake comes after two larger shakes were felt in the region last week.
These included a 3.2 magnitude tremor near Martinborough on Tuesday and a 4.1 magnitude quake felt in Eketahuna and surrounding districts two days earlier.
