A third victim in a New York chopper crash which killed a New Zealand woman and her Australian partner has died.
Harriet Nicholson, 60, of England, died at Bellevue Hospital, where she had been in critical condition since the helicopter crashed into New York City's East River on October 4, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
The cause of death was reportedly "respiratory complications of near drowning", meaning a shortage of oxygen to the brain, a medical examiner's spokeswoman is reported as saying.
Mrs Nicholson's daughter, Sonia Marra, 40, died at the scene of the crash and Ms Marra's partner, Wellington woman Helen Tamaki, 43, died a week later from complications caused by a lack of oxygen to her brain after she nearly drowned in the crash, the newspaper reported.
Mrs Nicholson's husband Paul, 71, and pilot Paul Dudley survived the crash with minor injuries.
